My Strange Addiction 6 (GROSS)
Carrying around my husband urn
Casie is 26 and she is addicted to carrying around her husbands urn, but she is taking her addiction a little further. She has started eating her husbands ashes also. She was carrying him and around and she accidently spilled his ashes on her hands and she didn't want to wipe him away because thats her husband so she just ate him. It has gotten to a point to where his ashes are the only thing that she eats. We can all say that she is handling the the death of her husband very roughly. She was so happy with him that his death was heartbreaking. I get that the only way that she can be close with him anymore is by eating him. She hates the taste but she does it anyways. She can not stand to be away from her husband, she doesn't no any other way to cope with his death. Casie started seeing a therapist and she had to say her eating the ashes is her way of coming out reality.

My Strange Addiction 5
Eating plastic/ Bathes in beach
Kailyn is 18 and she is addicting to eating plastic. Over 150 lbs of plastic has been consumed, and sometimes she chooses it over regular food. When she was 6 years old she was abused, so to deal with her past she turns to eating plastic. She kinda like the reaction she gets out of people. They fact that people find it weird that she does it and people want her to stop. Kailyn has stomach pain alot because of the plastic, when she was seeing a doctor they notice that something doesn't feel right about her liver. Eating plastic possibly feels her void, she said that it makes her fuller than food does.
Gloria LOVES bleach. She loves the feel of bleach. everyday she cleans her entire house with bleach it has ruined much of her clothes and alot of her furniture. Regardless of its affect she refuses to stop cleaning with it. When she was pregnant she would put bleach on toilet paper and eat it. Every day she bathes with bleach. The chemicals have burned her skin and her eyes, and it can also cause cancer. Gloria's addiction is like a drug, and it is slowly killing her.
When it comes to Gloria I wonder if deep down the reason why she cleans herself in bleach is because she is a black woman. Possibly a part of her wants to ruin or lighten her skin, but its all down in her subconscience
Its freaking amazing how all of these people could be doing to themself and all them be so harmful to the body. But thats how addiction works I suppose. Everything else is thrown out the window in order to satisfy that fix.

My Strange Addictions 4
Gas sniffer/ Teddy bear collector

Theresa is addicted to smelling gas, its the first and last thing she does every single day. She always has a bottle of gas with her, she has been doing this for 30 years. Her father asked if she wanted to smell his gas can and she has been addicting to smelling it ever since. I think that the chemicals in gas and her doing it for so long has aged her a ton. Her teeth are yellow and rotting almost, and it has caused her to have memory loss. Her gas sniffing has caused her to have a bunch of health problems. In this story, there was nothing tramatic that happened its just simply she like the affect and the smell. It is so different then having a drug problem. I had a gas spill in my car and it made me sick, I felt terrible and my whole brain hurt. I could only imagine how she feels on a daily basis.

Krista is addicted to her teddy bears, she seriously treats them as if they are her own children. She changes them, plays with them, and takes them everywhere with her. Her addiction has started because she is not allowed to have children herself because of medical issues. Being a mother is the only thing she really wanted to be and her mothering her teddy bears if her way of getting that motherly fix. She is an addict for drinking and drugs but has gotten over that. She just has an addictive personality, and has switched from one addiction to another. I believe that people encourage their addiction just makes it worse, and her boyfriend allows it to happen. You start to wonder thought because she is always addicted to something, if she wasn't addicted to her bears then what would she use instead?

My Strange Addiction 3
Wearing diapers/ Eating dryer sheets
Charmissa is 35 and she is addicting to eating dryer sheets. She loves the taste of them! Their fresh clean smell capivated her to the point where she decided to taste it, now she can't stop. She constantly eats dryer sheets during the day. 3,000 sheets a year! She actually got the addiction from her mother! Her mother use to chew and eat paper towels and toilet paper, but for Charmissa the dryer sheets were brought on by herself. The chemicals are so strong in the sheets that she has to wrap them in toilet paper but she regardless of the burn she does it anyways. Her addiction was inherited which is kinda sad. To think that she is the way she is because she grew up with her mother chewing and eating objects that should not injested. Death would be a high possiblity if she continued her addiction is death and brain damage because of those chemicals.

Riley is 25 and she is addicted to being an adult baby. Ummm not only it is weird that she likes being an adult baby but she is also a transgender. She sleeps in a crib that she made for herself and wears diapers. She started wearing diapers when she was 13 and and it increased into buying more baby items. She wears diapers 24 hours a day, and yes she actually does mess her diapers. She has this addiction is because she was born as a boy knowing that something was always wrong she never got to experience being a baby girl and growing up as a female. The idenity confusion could cause someone to make drastic changes in their life, always having the feeling that something was missing.

My Strange Addictions 2
Eating Drywall/ Getting hair out of drains
Evan is 28 and he is addicting to pulling hair out of shower drains. He says that it is a stress relief for him :/ weird I know. He gets it and he likes the wet slimy kinda and then all of his anxiety is gone. I'm noticing a bit of a pattern that alot of these addictions are anxiety caused. He addiction started when he was younger after his father passed away. His freinds worry about him cause they don't want him to become that "weird guy". He likes doing it to peoples drains that he has never been to before. After he does it he regrets doing it, and he feels disgusted with himself, than just throws the hair away. Its sad that he really does want to change but doesn't know how to do it, what steps to take to move forward. You start to ask questions such as how far could the addiction take him? Could it push him to weirder and extremer limits? I don't really know where the death of his father could bring up the want to pull hair out of the drain, if thats the cause of it at all. He said that his favorite type is brown hair and his father had brown hair but I don't know. Him playing with the hair causes him to visualize what the women look like that the hair belongs to. If anything it sounds like he just might have a hair fetish. The therapist said that he has an anxiety disorder.
Nicole is 26 a single parents and she is addicted to eating dry wall. She has been eating dry wall for 7 years, and she eats up to 3 square feet in a week. She is seriously eating her own house. Her addiction started to become really bad shortly after mother died. She hides her addiction. Just thinking about all the things that are in dry wall is scary, things like fiber glass. Fiber glass could cut up her insides and could possibly kill her! Luckily her addiction have been a little easy to kick. She stopped eating it after a visit to the doctor. She decided that her sons life and her own were more important than feeding the addiction
With this episode it makes me wonder, could a tramatic situations really cause a spark in a strange addiction?

My Strange Addictions
Rampant Rats/ Extreme finger nails
This lady has been addicting to having hairless rats for 10 years. She has 52 hairless rats Because her family refuses to talk to her anymore her love for her rats is the only kind of effection she has. She sleeps with some of her rats as well, she is broke and feeds her rats before she pays any bills or feeds herself. The rats were disgusting. They had boils on them, and cuts, it didn't look healthy at all. Rats can cause diseases that could cause her to die. The fact that her family has basically given up to her I feel that she clings onto the rats just that much more because they are the only ones that love and rely on her. Theresa tries to go to therapy in order to salvage the relationship with her daughter. Someone complained to say that the rats were not being taken care of so animal control removed all the rats from her house.
Jazz is addicted to growing her nails, she has been growing them for 22 years and her longest nails is 24 inchs. She considers her nails as being like her kids, they are very close to the heart. But on the other hand she cant do normal every day tasks anymore. She goes to the nail salon every week and cost $250 to get them done. She is so attached to her nails that if she breaks one she crys and has a high level of anxiety until she gets it fixed. Personally I don't know why or how anyone would get attached to growing out their finger nails. Even if a doctor told her to she had to cut her nails she would refuse to do that. That is what an addiction does to you. Regardless of what the risks are you can't help but over look it to keep you in the comfort of your addiction
